I thank you for your very recent advocacy for the Indian Health Center, the social security office in Lawton and the Doppler radar center which is critical for determining weather patterns. At the same time, it falls short! The VA is under attack during a time it’s treating increasingly more veterans under the PACT act. For those that want to state it’s bloated, I would invite them to talk with veterans and visit their local VA. The VA is constantly under pressure to meet the needs of veterans and struggles to keep up. While we watch the systematic gutting of federal government with the rationale that it’s fraud, waste and abuse, we note that all the inspector generals were fired whose job actually is to find fraud waste and abuse. Passing a budget resolution bill giving billionaires huge tax breaks would not support fiscal responsibility! In fact we are only adding to bloated pockets of billionaires and exploding the deficit. I don’t think any average American is going to agree that gutting Medicaid, Snap, Medicare, social security and VA benefits while handing out huge tax credits to the very rich is about fraud, waste and abuse. Constituents across the country are saying as much. The National Republican Congressional Committee has advised to Republicans to not hold town halls. You work for us- not the other way around! All of these cuts by DOGE are also illegal since Elon and his young team of engineers are not elected officials and are violating the constitution repeatedly by bypassing Congress! By remaining silent on this, you are abdicating your responsibilities since you’ve sworn an oath to uphold the constitution- not the President! This week we will see if a budget goes through but please know that one that supports huge tax cuts to billionaires will not be supported by your constituents. The SAVE act that you defend is little more than an attempt to disenfranchise millions of Americans from voting. Every single Republican election that is won is never questioned! There are questions only when it’s a Democrat that wins. Have you noticed? Audit after audit has not proven that. If you believe that voter fraud is occurring, we would like to see evidence and to date, we have not! Meanwhile we have a President who has pulled support, weapons and intelligence from Ukraine and left them vulnerable to Putin! Our President has turned his back on NATO and has started trade wars with our our allies. Our economy is weaker, our country is far less safe as the rest of the world is retreating from us leaving us vulnerable In the name of your career, will you remain silent while watching our own destruction? ! I hope not as we need better!
