The Republican Party has become LESS about integrity, foresight, rule of law and common sense, and MORE about greed, exclusion, racism and protectionism.
Please be more like Ike. Dwight D. Eisenhower was our president for two terms in the 1950’s.
Here are some of his accomplishments, which ALIGN more closely with what the American people want and believe in than anything YOU have been a part of.
Eisenhower’s Accomplishments:
Advocated for a tough stance on the Soviet Union while avoiding direct conflict. He also supported containment policies and strengthened NATO.
He advocated for a balanced budget, reducing government spending, and maintaining a strong economy without excessive government intervention.
While a Republican, Eisenhower did not push for the dismantling of New Deal programs; instead, he supported moderate social policies, including Social Security expansion.
He opposed efforts to completely dismantle labor protections and saw unions as legitimate institutions in American society.
His administration expanded Social Security and enacted laws increasing the minimum wage, reflecting his moderate approach to labor issues.
Eisenhower expanded the National Park System, adding new parks, monuments, and historic sites.
He signed legislation creating Canyonlands National Park in Utah and added lands to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Olympic National Park.
He established the Mission 66 program (1956), a ten-year initiative to improve park infrastructure, visitor centers, and facilities ahead of the National Park Service’s 50th anniversary in 1966.
While he supported conservation, Eisenhower also promoted responsible resource use, including oil, gas, and timber extraction on public lands.
He signed the Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956, which helped expand federal wildlife refuges and improved fishery conservation efforts.
I truly wish you and the Trump administration had a fraction of this great man’s integrity, intelligence and progressive thinking.
Make America Great Again…bring back Eisenhower’s progressive and common sense policies!
