Protect Trans Kids (from Gov. Newsom)

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently decided to jump on the transphobia train and parrot “concerns” about trans people playing sports. This came just days after Trump’s State of the Union address where he spewed hateful lies about trans people and their families. Republicans have already been using attacks on trans people as the “thin end of the wedge” to roll back reproductive rights for women, ban books, and make homophobia great again. None of their supposed concerns about trans people in sports (or any other sphere of life) are based in fact - all of the fearmongering is in support of their horrible broader agenda to erode civil rights and healthcare for EVERYONE. Dems should not be engaging in this kind of behavior. Follow the example of Maine’s Governor Janet Mills, who is standing up for transgender people and their families. Be a Mills, not a Newsom.
