The mass terminations of federal employees, including veterans who have honorably served our nation, are deeply concerning and counterproductive. Firing thousands of skilled and dedicated public servants will undermine the efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies, degrading services that Americans rely on. Veterans in particular bring invaluable experience, expertise, and commitment to their roles, and dismissing them disrespects their sacrifices. This indiscriminate downsizing damages workforce morale and institutional knowledge. Rather than arbitrary cuts, a more thoughtful and strategic approach to streamlining the federal workforce is needed that preserves core capabilities and values the contributions of those who have answered the call to public service, especially our veterans. A blanket purge is the wrong solution and will ultimately hurt the American people these agencies are meant to serve. I urge you to reconsider this misguided policy and instead work to retain talent while making targeted reforms.
