Elon Musk is a friend of President Trump. They have stated that publicly. Today, the President is advertising for Tesla cars and violating a federal regulation : “Use of Public Office for Private Gain - 5 C.F.R. § 2635.702 As a DOI employee, you may not use your public office for your own private gain or for the private gain of friends, relatives, business associates, or any other entity, no matter how worthy. Except as provided by law or regulation, you may not use or permit the use of your Government position or title or any authority associated with your public office in a manner that could reasonably be construed to imply that DOI or the Government sanctions or endorses any of your personal activities or the activities of another.” Are you not going to speak out against this blatant violation of the Code of Federal Regulations? Are we now a lawless country for the powerful and the wealthy? As your constituent, I demand that you act immediately.
