End inhumane and illegal detention of people. Period. But especially for profit. Please follow Illinois’ and New Mexico’s lead to bar any state partnership with private companies running detention centers. And end any practice of keeping immigrants in ICE custody at local jails or state prisons. ICE detention is by definition “non-punitive” but these private companies lack the oversight to treat people humanely as report after report have shown. When suffering is profitable we all end up in chains. Thank you for your hard work.
