Support Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act

To: Rep. Moore, Sen. Tuberville, Sen. Britt

From: A constituent in Dothan, AL

March 23

The Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act aims to protect voting rights for all eligible citizens, but the proposed SAVE Act would undermine these efforts by creating barriers that disenfranchise voters who have legally changed their last name. This discriminatory measure risks preventing countless Americans from exercising their fundamental right to vote based solely on a commonplace life event. We must reject any legislation that imposes unnecessary obstacles to voting and instead focus on expanding access to ensure every voice can be heard at the ballot box. I urge you to oppose the SAVE Act and support measures that safeguard voting rights without discrimination.
