Write congress You and your staff will go down in history. Not for anything good but as sycophants and enablers of the administration that is destroying the economy, our alliances, our education, health care, and democracy itself. Three months ago, the USA was viewed as a world leader. We had scores of allies. Our economy was the strongest in the world, unemployment was at a 50-year low, and the stock market was at a record high. Now, the USA is viewed as unreliable, having broken multiple treaties and threatening former friends. Former allies plan to exclude us from defense alliances and cease buying from our defense contractors. We’re voting in the UN with Russia, China, and North Korea. Our stock market is plunging, with near-record drops. Tariffs against trading partners and allies are viewed as economic terrorism and will cause a new recession. We were once classified as free of many infectious diseases, and now measles outbreaks are occurring across the country. Bird flu is spreading, but the experts who could track it have been fired in favor of supporting conspiracy theories. Medical investigators researching cancer, Parkinson’s’, and Alzheimer’s are are summarily fired. An egotistical and greedy billionaire who may have lied to get citizenship, coupled with his Neo-fascist minions, is summarily firing the people in government who have been investigating his criminal activity. They are now embarking on projects that may destroy both the SSA and IRS, too. Our law firms and media are under attack because people dare to exercise their rights to speak out and criticize the government. The USA was once considered the best spot for the world’s brightest to study and work. Now, many of them are going elsewhere for fear of being “disappeared” and perhaps shipped to detention camps in countries such as El Salvador. Some of our current best scholars and educators are exploring opportunities in other countries that have reasonable policies and funding. Our judicial system is under attack because it upholds the law against illegal actions by the administration. And while all this is going on, what is your response? Increase the federal deficit to give yet more tax breaks to the rich. Try to find ways to cut services and retirement benefits to the poorest among us and say that fired public servants somehow “deserve it.” You say and do NOTHING about the unconstitutional acts of the administration. You roll over and vote for policies that hurt your constituents. Perhaps it is because you fear backlash from Musk or MAGAts. Or maybe you have been compromised by Russia. Whatever the cause, you are standing on the sidelines as the country is under attack from within. Represent your constituents and honor your oath of office. Grow a spine. Stop being a rubber stamp for destruction, and DO YOUR JOB!
