I am writing to strongly urge against any proposed cuts to Medicaid funding for long-term care services and supports for people with disabilities. Such cuts would jeopardize access to critical services that allow individuals with disabilities to live independently and remain integrated in their communities. Medicaid is a vital lifeline, covering nearly two-thirds of all national spending on long-term services and supports. Cutting funding would force many disabled people into institutions or leave them without the care they need, significantly impacting their quality of life and autonomy. We must prioritize the well-being and dignity of our most vulnerable citizens over budgetary considerations. I implore you to protect and strengthen Medicaid funding for long-term care rather than diminish access to these essential services.
