URGENT: NO MORE FUNDING WAR CRIMINALS AND SUPPRESSING OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
To: Rep. Hayes, Sen. Blumenthal, Sen. Murphy
From: A verified voter in Waterbury, CT
March 11
**ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!** And enough was YEARS ago! Israel continues to *brazenly* violate ceasefire agreements, commit war crimes, and block humanitarian aid—once again cutting off life-saving supplies while Palestinians in Gaza face **imminent death every single minute.** Where is your humanity? The United States' disturbing, unwavering support for Israel’s atrocities is **no longer going unnoticed.** More and more Americans are waking up to the actions of this administration—just as they have to those of the previous one. **The U.S. is not just complicit in genocide and ethnic cleansing—it is FUNDING it.** And for what? The truth is clear: The U.S. administration **wants the land.** There is no denying it. **We the People refuse to allow another dime of our tax dollars to bankroll these war crimes.** We refuse to see another shipment of weapons sent to Israel to **fuel mass slaughter.** And beyond this unconscionable violence, the U.S. government is now turning its oppressive tactics inward, **suppressing our right to free speech and dissent.** The signs of fascism are clear—and growing. **We refuse to be silenced.** **Congress must act NOW.** We demand the **immediate release** of Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian green card holder who has been **targeted and detained** for exercising his **First Amendment rights.** This is a blatant attack on free speech and a **dangerous precedent for political retaliation.** As elected officials, your duty is to **protect our constitutional rights—not trample on them.** **Pressure DHS and ICE to release him IMMEDIATELY.** Additionally, we demand our district representative **cosponsor Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s Joint Disapproval Resolutions—H.J.Res. 68, 69, 70, and 71—to BLOCK** Trump’s $8.56 billion weapons transfer to Israel. We also demand they **sign onto the letter to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem,** which already has the support of 14 U.S. Representatives. **We demand that our Senators OPPOSE Senate Resolution 72 (S.Res. 72).** This resolution is yet another attempt by the U.S. government to **dictate the political future of an occupied people while actively funding their oppression.** The United States **has NO right** to decide who governs Palestine. The Palestinian people have the right to **self-determination**—and any claim to support democracy while **undermining it through force and occupation is nothing but hypocrisy.** **We demand action NOW.** The world is watching.
