Respect judicial independence and separation of powers

To: Sen. Collett, Sen. McCormick, Rep. Dean, Rep. Malagari, Pres. Trump, Sen. Fetterman, Gov. Shapiro

From: A constituent in Lansdale, PA

March 16

The checks and balances established by the Constitution are fundamental to our democracy. Judge Boasberg's ruling to temporarily halt deportations ordered by the Trump administration upholds this system by providing judicial oversight. Filing articles of impeachment against a judge for issuing a lawful ruling would undermine the independence of the judiciary branch. We must respect the role of the courts in ensuring the president does not overstep constitutional boundaries. Maintaining the separation of powers among the three branches is vital to prevent any one branch from accumulating excessive power. This ruling allows for the legal process to play out and for the Administration to make its case before the courts. Calling for impeachment over a disagreement with a single ruling is an extreme reaction that disregards our democratic principles. I urge you to reconsider this course of action and respect the authority of the judicial system.
