A response to your reply about the SAVE Act
To: Sen. Budd
From: A verified voter in Holly Springs, NC
April 1
I have received your response regarding my email about voting NO on the SAVE Act.
You responded that sadly, many Americans have lost faith in the integrity of our elections. This is sad indeed, but let me remind you that lies about voting integrity have been perpetrated by the GOP, with the biggest offender being the President himself.
Instead of countering these lies, and relying on facts to put the public at ease, the GOP has instead leveraged this distrust as an opportunity to further disenfranchise voters, particularly women who have changed their name upon marriage. As I stated in my message to you, voter fraud is in fact rare, does not happen in numbers that affect election outcomes and is typically caught early and dealt with within the law.
You are guilty, as is the majority of your party, in allowing lies about voter fraud to fester and in turn into disease in this country. You are guilty of capitalizing on these lies as a way to disenfranchise American voters, mostly women.
When will the good people of NC see you act with integrity?
