I am a constituent writing to ask you to vote AGAINST HR 1526. This act is an overt and direct attack on our democracy. History will record which side you stand upon. Your name. Your vote. Your action or inaction will be forever listed as one who either fought for democracy or one who ceded power to fascism. Our democracy was founded on the checks and balances between the three branches of government so that one branch could not dominate and overtake the others. This law removes the ability of the judiciary branch to decide in the ways that follow rule of law, history, ethics, and current societal needs. The judicial branch needs to remain powerful and autonomous for our democracy to function. HR 1526 would remove those factors that allow the judiciary branch to be fully autonomous. A vote for HR 1526 makes the legislative branch look weak, afraid, and powerless. A vote for makes it appear that you have no actual voice. You are not allowed to have an opinion of your own. You are weak and only are there because you can follow directions. I encourage you to take back your power. I encourage you to listen to your ethics and to lift your voice to maintain autonomy in all three branches of our democracy. I encourage you to vote against HE 1526 so that our democracy will continue to thrive. Thank you for your time.
