Reject Damaging Canada Tariffs, Uphold Free Trade Alliances
To: Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty
From: A constituent in Knoxville, TN
April 2
Trump's tariffs on Canadian imports represent nothing less than a massive tax hike on American working families. These punitive trade actions are projected to cost the average U.S. household up to $2,000 per year in increased costs for everyday goods and consumer items. This regressive tax burden will disproportionately fall on middle and lower-income Americans who can least afford higher prices on essentials. Hardworking Americans struggling with already-high inflation should not be forced to bear the brunt of this administration's reckless policies. Undoing these misguided tariffs is crucial to providing much-needed financial relief to working class households across the country. I urge you to support this legislation terminating the national emergency declaration exploited to levy these damaging new taxes in the form of duties on Canadian imports.
