Any concessions made to Vladimir Putin’s regime risk emboldening a dictator and undermining the credibility of the United States on the world stage. This decision is not only dangerous but also fundamentally un-American. The United States should be standing firmly against tyranny, not engaging in negotiations that reward bad behavior. A ceasefire without the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity is a victory for Russia and a failure of American leadership. I urge you to reconsider your stance, reaffirm America’s unwavering support for Ukraine, and maintain—if not strengthen—the sanctions that hold Russia accountable for its war crimes and violations of international law. The American people do not support appeasement of our enemies, nor do we support policies that put our nation and our allies at risk. I look forward to your response on this urgent matter.
