As a constituent of Fort Worth, Texas, I am deeply disappointed by those Congressional representatives who decide to forgo in-person town hall meetings with their constituents. These gatherings are vital for fostering direct communication, allowing us to express our concerns, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the issues that affect our community. Opting for controlled environments like tele-town halls or social media interactions, while convenient, often limit the breadth of discussion and may not accurately reflect the diverse perspectives within our district.
I understand that recent town halls faced challenges, including confrontations and organized disruptions. However, avoiding in-person interactions altogether demonstrates a reluctance to engage with constituents and address their concerns openly. I urge you to prioritize in-person town hall meetings, as they are essential for maintaining transparency, building trust, and ensuring that all voices in our community are heard and valued.
