This bill is a misguided attempt to address a non-issue based on misinformation and falsehoods. Children engaging in pretend play and using their imaginations is normal childhood behavior that should not be restricted or punished. Instead of pursuing this unnecessary legislation, our representatives should be focusing their efforts on improving school funding, reducing class sizes, supporting teachers, and addressing the real challenges facing Texas education. Wasting time and resources on fabricated problems distracts from meaningfully improving our schools for the benefit of all students. I urge you to reject this bill and instead prioritize policies that will have a positive impact on providing high-quality education for Texas children.
