The Trump administration's defiance of the rule of law over the past eight weeks has plunged the United States into a deepening constitutional crisis that threatens our democracy. Christopher Wright Durocher of the American Constitution Society warns that Trump's actions pose a grave threat that requires an effective defense of the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. His blatant disregard for legal constraints and checks on presidential power cannot be allowed to stand. We must take immediate action to rein in Trump's abuses and uphold the principles enshrined in our Constitution before further irreparable damage is done. The very foundation of our nation is at stake. Assertive steps must be taken to protect our democratic institutions from Trump's authoritarian overreach and restore faith in the Constitution as the supreme law of the land.
