Oppose unregulated logging on public lands, protect environment

To: Rep. Walberg, Gov. Whitmer, Sen. Bellino, Pres. Trump, Rep. Jenkins-Arno, Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Adrian, MI

March 8

The Trump administration has issued an executive order directing agencies to increase domestic timber production across 280 million acres of national forests and public lands. This move bypasses environmental laws meant to ensure sustainable forestry practices and compromises public safety by failing to adequately assess the impact on air quality, water quality, and wildfire risk. Unregulated expansion of logging risks the long-term viability of our public lands and harms wildlife, including endangered species. Congress must oppose this effort to undermine protections that preserve public lands and the safety of all Americans.
