Vote No on Senate Budget Gutting Medicare and Medicaid

Urgent Action Needed: Vote No on Senate Budget Plan Cutting Medicare and Medicaid The Senate is set to vote on a disastrous budget resolution this week that would make the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent, adding an additional $1.5 trillion in tax giveaways for the wealthy and large corporations. To finance these egregious tax cuts for the rich, the budget proposes slashing a staggering $2 trillion from vital social programs like Medicaid. This budget blatantly prioritizes the interests of billionaires over the wellbeing of millions of hard-working Americans who rely on Medicaid for essential healthcare coverage. Even more alarming, Senate Republicans are circumventing the proper procedural rules by bypassing input from the Senate Parliamentarian, who enforces budget reconciliation requirements that any revenue decreases must be offset by equal spending cuts. This is an outright assault on established protocols meant to ensure fiscal responsibility. For the sake of protecting healthcare access for our most vulnerable citizens and maintaining the integrity of the federal budgeting process, this reckless budget plan must be rejected. A vote for this proposal is a vote to sacrifice the welfare of ordinary Americans in favor of further enriching the nation's wealthiest individuals and large corporations. Senators must act in the best interests of their constituents, not deep-pocketed donors, by voting No on this misguided budget resolution. The American people are counting on their elected representatives to defend Medicare, Medicaid, and fiscal prudence.
