I am writing to express my deep concern—not just about the lawlessness unfolding in our country, but about your silence and inaction in the face of it. If you truly love this country, if you believe in the Constitution you swore to uphold, then your cowardice must end now.
Every day that you permit the executive branch to seize congressionally appropriated funds without consequence, you are surrendering the most fundamental power Congress holds: the power of the purse. This is not a partisan issue; this is a direct assault on the Constitution and the authority of the legislative branch. If you allow the executive to rule unchecked, then you are complicit in the slow-motion coup happening in front of us.
Equally alarming is the unchecked influence of billionaires who think they are above the law—Elon Musk among them. Firing federal employees for doing their jobs? Dismantling congressionally established agencies? And yet, you say nothing. Your silence is permission. Your inaction is complicity. If you refuse to stand up to this, then step aside for someone who will.
Let me remind you: you are an elected official, put in office to represent us, your constituents. Not your donors. Not your party leadership. Not your own personal ambitions. The American people are watching as you ignore their voices and allow corruption and authoritarianism to take root. There is a reason Mike Pence isn’t vice president today—because he found his line. Where is yours?
Do your job. Stop the unanimous consent in the Senate. Reject any budget that slashes Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare to serve the wealthiest elites. Demand accountability for those who exploit our government for personal gain. Your legacy is being written right now. History will remember whether you stood for the Constitution or cowered in fear.
I await your response. More importantly, I await your action.
