The recent actions by the Trump administration to dismantle critical components of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are deeply concerning. The elimination of the Office of Environmental Justice, which has played a pivotal role in addressing pollution in marginalized communities, threatens to exacerbate environmental disparities.
Furthermore, the proposed rollback of the 2009 endangerment finding that classifies greenhouse gases as harmful undermines essential climate regulations designed to protect public health.
In parallel, the administration’s proposal to make car loan interest fully tax-deductible aims to stimulate domestic auto production and make car ownership more affordable.
However, these policies, coupled with the rollback of fuel efficiency standards, may lead to increased pollution and hinder progress toward sustainable transportation solutions.
I urge you to oppose the dismantling of the EPA’s critical programs and to advocate for automotive policies that balance affordability with environmental responsibility. Protecting public health and promoting sustainable industry practices are not mutually exclusive goals; they are imperative for the well-being of our communities and future generations.
