Texas legislators are currently considering a school voucher program that would divert public funds to private and religious schools. Such programs siphon desperately needed resources away from public education, undermining efforts to improve outcomes for all students. Public dollars should remain dedicated to strengthening public schools accessible to every child, rather than subsidizing exclusionary institutions. A strong public education system benefits the entire state economically and socially. I urge you to reject this misguided voucher scheme and prioritize investing in our public schools and teachers.
