I am afraid of the way our country is heading. The GOP is actively gutting institutions my family works for. I am disabled and my partner is the sole earner in our household. They are also at risk of losing their citizenship or being harassed by ICE. No one in DC is able to protect people like me. My family has enough to worry about with the hurricane devastation. We can't survive also being devastated by asinine government purges and cuts. I rely on a variety of institutions that the GOP are trying to burn down. My family has fought and died for this country and the institutions that Trump is trying to kill. I voted for you because Mark Robinson is a monster and emblematic of everything the right wing enables. Hatred and division. It is making me feel hopeless watching 70+ year olds destroy the only nation I've ever called home. Watching them sleepwalk into disaster after disaster. This includes many prominent Democrats as well. Everyone is giving in to Trump and selling our futures out to the likes of Elon Musk. Fight for us. Fiercely. People like you are the only thing standing between democracy and dictatorship. "They came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me." Martin Niëmoller wrote that as the final line regarding the Nazis. We need you to do more than speak but speak loudly as well.
