The United States' decision to withdraw from the International Center for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine is deeply concerning. This multinational group was formed to hold President Vladimir Putin and other leaders accountable for violating Ukraine's sovereignty by initiating an unjustified and unprovoked invasion. Pulling out sends the wrong message and represents a step back from ensuring justice for crimes committed against the Ukrainian people. I urge you to reconsider this withdrawal and recommit the United States to working with international partners to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the devastating aggression in Ukraine. Accountability is critical to upholding the rules-based international order and deterring future acts of aggression that undermine peace and human rights. The victims in Ukraine deserve justice, and the world is looking for moral leadership on this issue. Please reverse course and rejoin this vital effort to support Ukraine.
