As the insanity continues, I notice you remain mute and/ or defend the madness! Amazing! The President has threatened Europe with 200% tariffs! The President continues to threaten Greenland and talk about increasing troops there! The President has continued to threaten Canada and raise tariffs there! Federal funding for libraries and museums and for the homeless has been gutted! Do you really think that is about fraud, waste and abuse?! NOAA is being cut?! How will any of us be safe? Park rangers have been let go. All of this, while a tax plan giving huge tax cuts to billionaires was passed through September! Now Medicaid is under assault! The former commissioner of the social security office has warned that in 30 to 90 days we will see delays in checks. Millions of Americans depend on those checks. Millions of Americans can’t survive without those checks. I suspect strongly your career won’t either! Cutting Medicaid, Medicare and social security will devastate millions of Americans. Don’t bother with the fraud, waste and abuse defense while giant tax cuts are being given to billionaires! The CR that you helped to pass is unconscionable and yet you voted for it. Will you rest well at night while seniors in nursing homes are displaced? How about children that go without medical care? Will you rest peacefully when families can’t make ends meet due to cuts in social security? Will you rest well while the economy slides into a recession where Oklahomans struggle to make ends meet? Will you rest well while many Oklahomans farmers go broke as they can’t survive without federal subsidies and depended on USAID. How many more farmers will go broke now that China has joined the trade wars. Will you sleep well while the President continues his assault on Canada, Mexico, Europe and Ukraine and NATO steps away from us. Do you think the world looks favorably on us while we let other countries starve and allow diseases to kill large swaths of people we had been helping? If you can sleep peacefully, then it does not speak well of who you are. If it’s only your career you are concerned about, I’d say you are missing the point. If Congress has no authority over the purse or the rule of law, then what purpose do you serve. Dictators don’t need a Congress. The rest of us are scared. The rest of us see that things are out of control! I don’t have much faith in your willingness to stand up for us but I keep hoping there’s a part of you that cares about Oklahomans. You can bet your constituents are going to continue to raise their voices and find their courage.
