The proposed budget resolution from the House of Representatives poses a grave threat to essential healthcare programs and the social safety net that millions of Americans rely on. It is unacceptable to extend tax cuts for the wealthiest at the expense of slashing funding for Medicaid, Medicare, and other vital programs. These draconian cuts of $2 trillion would jeopardize the health and financial stability of our most vulnerable citizens. We cannot allow the sacrifice of life-saving services to finance additional tax breaks for billionaires and corporations. The budget proposal lays bare misguided priorities that value enriching the already wealthy over supporting ordinary Americans. It is fiscally reckless and morally reprehensible. I urge you to reject this cruel budget resolution and any reconciliation bill that emerges from it containing cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, or other critical programs. Our government must protect the social safety net, not undermine it for the benefit of the privileged few. Stand firm against this assault on American healthcare and financial security. Defend the programs that uplift and sustain our communities.
