Missouri voted—quit trying to reverse it!
To: Rep. Coleman, Sen. Nicola
From: A verified voter in Independence, MO
March 13
I am growing more and more concerned about Missouri legislators' attempts to overturn things that were fairly voted for in November. You do not represent companies--you represent people... people who work for those companies and yes, people who own those companies, but people... and PEOPLE made our wishes clear in November with Proposition A and Amendment 3.
Stop trying to redefine and ignore what we voted for because you and certain donors or constituents disagree. Missourians have demanded fair employment practices, with an increased minimum wage and earned paid time off, and we have demanded access to abortion as reproductive healthcare.
If a company cannot afford to support their employees instead of take advantage of them, they don't deserve to stay in business. Full stop. And no one opposed to abortion need ever get one, but they should have no say whatsoever in the healthcare choices of those who do require or desire one. It's no one else's business than a woman and her doctor.
If you go against what Missourians voted for, don't expect to get another term in office. We won't let this be forgotten.
