President Trump's recent executive order on voter fraud is a concerning distraction from the real issues facing American democracy. Numerous studies and evidence from election officials across the country have confirmed that voter fraud is extremely rare and does not occur on a scale that could impact election outcomes. This executive order perpetuates the harmful myth of widespread voter fraud, which has been weaponized to justify unnecessary restrictions on voting access that disproportionately disenfranchise minority communities. Instead of sowing doubts about the integrity of U.S. elections, we should be expanding voting rights and making it easier for all eligible citizens to exercise their Constitutional right to vote. This executive order is a misguided attempt to solve a non-existent problem and will only serve to undermine faith in free and fair elections. I urge you to reject these unfounded claims of voter fraud and instead work to strengthen American democracy by protecting voting rights and ensuring equal access to the ballot box for all citizens.
