The US Postal Service is a crucial public service that millions of Americans rely on for affordable and reliable mail delivery. Privatizing it would likely lead to higher costs, reduced service in rural areas, and job losses for postal workers. Rather than privatization, the USPS needs proper funding and support from Congress to modernize its operations and continue serving the public good. Amtrak plays a similarly vital role in providing rail transportation across the country. Privatizing these public services in the name of profitability would be misguided and harmful to American communities and workers. We should invest in strengthening and improving these institutions, not undermine them through privatization.
