I am writing to you as a concerned citizen to express my strong opposition to the proposed hearings on Judge James Boasberg and the No Rogue Rulings Act (H.R. 1526). I respectfully urge you not to allow these actions to move forward, as they pose a serious threat to the independence of our judiciary and the balance of power that underpins our democracy.Judge Boasberg has made rulings, such as those related to deportation policies, based on legal principles rather than political motives. Holding hearings targeting him risks politicizing our courts, which could undermine public confidence in the judicial system. Additionally, the No Rogue Rulings Act aims to restrict judges’ ability to issue nationwide injunctions—a tool that has been vital in protecting civil rights and holding the executive branch accountable. For example, landmark decisions like Brown v. Board of Education demonstrate how such judicial authority has advanced justice and equality in our nation. These measures, if enacted, could weaken the judiciary’s role as a check on government overreach and set a dangerous precedent for the future. I ask you to consider the long-term consequences for the rule of law and to oppose both the hearings and this legislation.Thank you for your time and dedication to serving our community. I appreciate your attention to this critical matter and urge you to stand against these efforts.
