Detaining and deporting people who are in the US legally, for example, students on a student visa, and people living here on a green card, without due process is illegal. Even non-citizens have rights according to the Constitution.
Why are people being detained and deported without access to legal representation and due process?
Even American citizens have also been detained with their valid US passports taken away from them yet, not charged with a crime.
This is unconscionable and inhumane. The Venezuelans were deported without charges filed.
If they are criminals, charge them and give them a fair trial.
What happened to innocent until proven guilty? What happened to the rule of law?
In the instances of student visas being taken, what happened to the First Amendment and the right of free speech? As long as discource is civil and nonviolent, anyone is allowed to express an opinion even if it is different from yours.
Shame.
My understanding is that the present president is upset that his established quotas have not been met, so that ICE employees were ordered to grab people without due process. Are you serious? This is not ok.
It is illegal.
Your silence as this administration commits these despicable acts makes you complicit and just as guilty of the cruel and unusual treatment being allowed.
You have the power to stop it. Not doing so means you will go down in history for your shameful complicity to inhuman behavior. And you will go down in history.
