I write to express my deep concern over a “100-year plan” being developed by well-funded MAGA forces to entrench Trumpism long after his presidency. The America First Policy Institute (AFPI), launched in 2021 by figures like Brooke Rollins, Linda McMahon, and Larry Kudlow, is retooling as a shadow White House policy shop. With new leaders such as Greg Sindelar, Chad Wolf, and David Bernhardt, AFPI is positioning itself as a permanent incubator for policies that undermine democratic norms and progressive values.
In response, I urge you to spearhead a comprehensive long-term strategy—Project 2028—that establishes progressive policies to protect and expand civil rights, environmental sustainability, healthcare, education, and economic justice. By proactively aligning our national priorities with equity, transparency, and accountability, Project 2028 can serve as a direct countermeasure to the America First movement’s vision.
There is no room for complacency. Without a bold, forward-thinking strategy, we risk endorsing a future where authoritarian policies prevail. We must act now to secure a legacy of justice and inclusion.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing proactive measures taken to safeguard our democratic values.
