In December 2024, Connecticut’s Task Force to Study Methods to Address the Shortage of Radiologic Technologists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists and Respiratory Care Practitioners in the State released its final report and provided four key recommendations for Connecticut to combat the workforce shortage in the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession. These recommendations were to be included in legislation during the 2025 legislative session.
However, the joint Public Health Committee held a hearing on Monday, March 10 on Senate Bill 1450, An Act Concerning Recruitment and Retention of the Health Care Workforce, and this legislation did not include provisions to address the shortage experienced in medical imaging.
include medical imaging and radiation therapy in SB 1450. Please include medical imaging and radiation therapy to SB 1450.
