No to HB 467

To: Rep. Crawford

From: A constituent in Atlanta, GA

March 6

Please help make sure that HB 467 does not make it to the Senate. This bill would greatly strengthen the protections for Confederate monuments. Moreover, it would encourage lawsuits while adding administrative costs for local governments. It would also restrict their ability to make decisions regarding objects on public land that violate local community values. Georgia law already prohibits the removal of Confederate monuments (O.C.G.A. 50-3-1), and criminalizes vandalism. HB 467 would only burden local governments and Georgia’s courts with no additional benefit to the public. VOTE NO ON HB467.
