I support education for all children regardless of legal status. I am writing to urge you to oppose SB836/HB793, which would allow LEAs and public charter schools to deny students a free public education based on immigration status. This bill conflicts with our core values and our commitment to protecting vulnerable populations. I hope you will oppose this harmful legislation and advocate instead for all students to receive an education that prepares them for the future. I appreciate your consideration of this request. Our country was founded on principles of freedom and equality. This is not equality.
