The foundation of our democracy is being tested. When the executive branch openly defies a federal court order, it is not just a breach of protocol—it is a direct attack on the rule of law. The judiciary must act swiftly and decisively to reaffirm its authority and uphold the Constitution.
President Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport individuals despite a court order halting such actions is an unprecedented challenge to the separation of powers. If this defiance is allowed to stand, it sets a dangerous precedent: that the executive can ignore the judiciary without consequence. That is not democracy. That is tyranny.
The courts must act now. I urge you to:
1. Enforce Contempt of Court Charges – Those who defy judicial orders must be held accountable, including through fines, sanctions, or arrest where applicable. No one is above the law.
2. Issue a Clear, Immediate Injunction – The courts must reaffirm that these deportations are illegal and any further defiance will result in legal consequences.
3. Demand Congressional and Public Accountability – While the judiciary does not wield legislative power, a clear judicial stance will force Congress and the American people to confront this crisis.
The credibility of the judicial system—and by extension, the stability of our democracy—depends on your response. The Constitution gives the courts authority for a reason. Use it.
Stand up to tyranny. Defend the rule of law. This is you. This is America.
