Things are getting ridiculous. I’m writing to ask for your help with 3 things, but really this is one big ask. First, the Ukraine situation and the resulting (justified)!distrust coming from our former allies MUST be addressed. It may already be too late, but we need to make clear that at least some legitimate policymakers in the US stand with our allies. Second, the firing of government workers continues and now clearly threatens Social Security, not to mention the proposed budget and its inevitable slashing of Medicaid. The funds in Social Security belong to US, and we deserve to have them paid to us fairly and in a timely manner. Third, the apparent “Crypto Reserve” touted by Trump is an inappropriate use of taxpayer money. I have already heard rumors of someone doing some insider trading around this issue as well. This is fraud. It needs to stop. Every day there is something new. It is inappropriate for you, the Democrats in the House and Senate, to remain silent, even though you are the minority party. You MUST work with your colleagues to find an effective, timely, and highly visible way to respond—EVERY DAY—to the horrible things coming out of the Trump presidency. You are the minority but you still have your voice. NOW IS THE TIME TO USE IT. PLEASE. We need to see you doing something, even if it is simply presenting the facts and denouncing the insanity every single day. Thank you for your attention to this.
