Do not privatize social security

To: Sen. Hawley, Rep. Graves, Sen. Schmitt

From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO

March 23

I am concerned about potential efforts to privatize Social Security, as experts have warned this could jeopardize the financial security of millions of Americans who rely on these essential benefits. Social Security is a vital social safety net that has lifted generations out of poverty and provided a reliable income source for retirees and the disabled. Privatizing this system by diverting funds into private accounts or cryptocurrency investments like Dogecoin carries immense risks, including exposure to market volatility that could drastically reduce or wipe out people's hard-earned retirement savings. I urge you to reject any proposals that would undermine or dismantle Social Security's current structure as a government-administered program. Instead, we should explore strengthening and modernizing Social Security to ensure its long-term solvency and continue providing guaranteed income protection for our nation's most vulnerable populations.
