I am very upset and appalled that the bill to make reduced lunches free for at-need students was not brought forward for third read. I am 100% supportive of this bill and it is a very small expenditure in the context of our state funding. It's bananas to not provide food for children who desperately need it, both to not starve and to learn. We need to be better.
