Allow government shutdown to catalyze real reform for governance

To: Rep. McBride, Sen. Blunt Rochester, Sen. Coons

From: A constituent in Hockessin, DE

March 11

The government should not operate through short-term funding bills that fail to address fundamental issues. Voting against this stopgap measure will force a reckoning over the disarray Republicans have sown since taking power. Americans deserve better than temporary bandages that ignore underlying problems and enable continued dysfunction. Let the shutdown occur so the public experiences firsthand the consequences of this mismanagement and political turmoil. Only then can real reform take place to restore functional, responsible governance that serves the people's interests rather than scoring partisan points.
