I applaud Rep. Gottheimer for opposing the censure of Rep. Al Green, as that represents the will of the people of NJ-5. I urge Rep. Gottheimer to speak out more forcefully and persistently against the Trump administration's concerning agenda, just as Rep. Green courageously did. My parents' Social Security payments, which they have rightfully earned through decades of hard work and contributions, hang precariously in the balance. It is imperative that we prioritize protecting vital programs like Social Security and Medicare that provide a financial safety net for seniors, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations over partisan interests or misguided policy proposals that would undermine these essential pillars of our social fabric. As a constituent, I implore Rep. Gottheimer to be a strong voice for preserving and strengthening these crucial programs that millions of Americans rely on for their well-being and basic economic security.
