Halt DOGE's reckless overreach endangering government operations

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Gill, Sen. Cruz

March 3

The rapid and disruptive changes being carried out by Elon Musk's DOGE team across federal agencies are deeply concerning. Their actions, such as attempting to gain unauthorized access to sensitive government data systems, firing career civil servants without proper cause or process, and making sweeping cuts to vital programs and services, pose a threat to the proper functioning of our government institutions. This reckless approach undermines the principles of good governance, accountability, and the rule of law. Federal workers, many with decades of experience, are being dismissed or pressured to resign based on perfunctory interviews and questionable criteria. Crucial government operations and public services are being disrupted, potentially impacting millions of Americans who rely on them. We must restore order and due process in the management of our federal workforce and agencies. DOGE's unbridled attempts to seize control of government systems and data, often through backdoor means, raise alarming cybersecurity and privacy risks. This unchecked power grab sets a dangerous precedent and erodes the checks and balances that are essential to our democracy. I urge you to take immediate action to rein in DOGE's overreach, protect the integrity of our civil service, and uphold the laws and regulations that govern the executive branch. Restoring stability, transparency, and adherence to established protocols in the federal government's operations is crucial for maintaining public trust and ensuring the effective delivery of services to the American people.
