Right now, our government has turned its back on the rule of law, using its power against the very people it’s supposed to serve while avoiding any responsibility for its actions. Corruption is everywhere, with officials blatantly ignoring the constitutional checks and balances that are meant to keep them in line, obstructing justice, and undermining the integrity of our elections. Laws are applied selectively — used as weapons against political adversaries while the powerful escape unscathed. The judiciary, which should be a protector of democracy, has been filled with loyalists who manipulate legal precedents to push an authoritarian agenda. Courts have stopped being a check on power and have instead become facilitators of its misuse. Agencies that are supposed to safeguard the public have been stripped of their purpose, replaced by tests of political loyalty. Whistleblowers are silenced, investigative bodies are starved of funding, and the press is branded as the enemy for simply trying to report the truth. At the same time, democracy itself is under attack. Elections are being rigged through voter suppression, gerrymandering, and disinformation campaigns that aim to create chaos and distrust. Laws are being rewritten to secure power indefinitely, turning peaceful transitions of leadership into a thing of the past. This isn’t governance; it’s lawlessness masquerading as authority. A government that ignores its own laws is fundamentally illegitimate. To My Elected Officials: Do Your Job! You took an oath to defend the Constitution. That oath doesn’t come with loopholes for political convenience or fear of backlash. You were chosen to serve the people, not to shrink away from a lawless regime. Your silence is complicity. We demand action. Use every tool at your disposal — legislation, investigations, legal challenges — to put a stop to this assault on democracy. Stand up against corruption, protect our institutions, and hold those in power accountable. If you choose to remain inactive, the people will remember. History will not look kindly on those who allowed tyranny to flourish through cowardice or complacency. The time for mere words has passed. We demand action now — before it’s too late.
