Protect voting rights, oppose SAVE Act's voter suppression measures

To: Rep. Baumgartner, Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell

From: A constituent in Spokane Valley, WA

March 26

The SAVE Act would impose unnecessary and burdensome requirements for voting that could disenfranchise millions of Arizonans. Married women, seniors, veterans, and disaster victims would face significant barriers to exercising their constitutional right to vote if forced to produce specific documentation like birth certificates or passports every time they need to register or update their voter information. These restrictive provisions seem designed not to safeguard voter eligibility, but rather to suppress voting access, particularly for vulnerable groups. I urge you to oppose the SAVE Act and instead pursue policies that protect and expand voting rights for all eligible citizens.
