I strongly oppose limiting the ability of federal courts to issue nationwide injunctions against executive branch policies. This proposed legislation poses a serious threat to judicial independence and the system of checks and balances essential to our democracy. With concerning authoritarian tendencies emerging from the executive branch, it is more crucial than ever to preserve the judiciary's role as a check on potential abuses of power. Nationwide injunctions allow courts to swiftly halt unconstitutional policies that could grievously harm millions of Americans before going through lengthy appeals processes. Restricting this authority would effectively grant the president license to enact unlawful and discriminatory policies until the Supreme Court eventually weighs in years later. We cannot allow this erosion of our founding principles of separation of powers and due process of law. I urge steadfast opposition to any measure undermining the courts' vital function as a co-equal branch providing oversight of the other branches.
