Take action and continue to build on Cory Booker’s momentum

To: Rep. DeGette, Sen. Bennet, Sen. Hickenlooper

From: A verified voter in Littleton, CO

April 3

I am writing to strongly encourage you to build upon the momentum created by Senator Booker’s compelling call for a government that serves all people—not just the wealthy few. His speech was a powerful reminder that Congress must prioritize justice and equity while standing firm against the growing threats to our multiracial democracy and fundamental rights. At present, the administration seems to believe that the government has unchecked power, even when it infringes upon our rights and freedoms. By stifling legitimate, lawful demands and legal challenges vital to safeguarding our civil rights and democracy. This is undermining the very foundation of our freedoms. We cannot allow this assault on democracy to continue, and I ask you to do everything within your power to protect our rights and ensure that our government serves the people. As our leaders, we expect you to fight for what is just and right without fear, even when faced with adversity. Your duty is to act in the best interests of your constituents, rather than prioritizing corporate interests or political divides. Please know that I, along with many others, will be closely monitoring your actions and will hold you accountable for defending the principles that strengthen, rather than erode, our democracy. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing about the steps you will take to support Senator Booker’s call and work toward a government that truly serves all people.
