“A republic, if you can keep it.” President Biden quoted these words to us several times before he left office. It was a warning, and a call to action. Congress must not allow this hostile takeover of America to continue. DOGE and Elon musk have compromised our data, our privacy, our safety, and our standing in the world. Congress must take action to get Musk and his team of child hackers out of the federal government. Congress must stand firm against Trump’s attacks on its own power. Every executive order he signs brings us closer and closer to autocracy. He disrespects service members and veterans, attacks birthright citizenship, and has invoked war time power to deport immigrants, while disappearing people here lawfully for exercising their First Amendment rights. There is no more time for playing nice. There is no more room to negotiate. The nation is being held hostage by a madman, and Democrats must prove that they are a real opposition party. Take a stand. We need mass protests, boycotts, and new leadership prepared to fight for our lives and our freedom. Stand and fight. We are out of time.
