This egregious violation of constitutional rights must not stand. Detaining and attempting to deport a lawful permanent resident like Mahmoud Khalil without due process solely for exercising free speech sets an incredibly dangerous precedent that undermines fundamental American values. If the government can unlawfully revoke Khalil's residency status and detain him over peaceful protest activities, no citizen is truly safe from similar retaliation for dissent. This is a blatant attack on the First Amendment that cannot be tolerated. Khalil must be immediately released and his lawful residency reinstated. Failing to do so gravely erodes democratic principles and threatens the constitutional protections we all expect as Americans. I urge you to take immediate action condemning these unconstitutional actions and upholding the rights we hold dear.
