I hope this letter finds you well, basking in the glow of whatever chaos today’s headlines have bestowed upon us. As a concerned (and increasingly exhausted) citizen, I write to you with the utmost curiosity: What, pray tell, will the Baby-in-Chief hurl against the proverbial wall today? Will it be another fundamental democratic norm? Perhaps an international alliance? Or, if we're really lucky, just another tantrum that leaves the rest of us scrambling to translate nonsense into governance?
It must be quite the thrill ride up there in Washington, watching history unfold in real-time as we collectively hold our breath, waiting for the next tweet, executive order, or flagrant disregard for basic human decency. Meanwhile, out here in reality, the nation teeters on the edge of revolt—not the fun, patriotic kind with tea and a harbor, but the "we’ve-had-enough-of-this-madness" kind that history books don’t romanticize.
But no rush! I’m sure you and your esteemed colleagues have this all under control—just like the last time. And the time before that. And the time before that. After all, what’s democracy without a little free-fall now and then?
Looking forward to your boilerplate response assuring me that everything is just fine.
